The hand is out and you are telling a story about drought, or the seed is sitting on the windowsill getting dusty. Ace reversed is often a gift you will not admit is a gift. Put it in soil: even a small coin, planted, is how orchards start.

History

Pentacles (coins, disks) are earth: body, craft, livelihood, the garden itself. Smith’s Ace is a cloud-hand holding a gold disc marked with a five-pointed star over a flowering hedge, an arch and distant peaks. Waite’s pentacle is the suit’s whole thesis — spirit stamped into matter. Lilies mark the ground as blessed work, not mere cash.
