Six of Wands

Upright

recognition · a win you can share · the laurel road

The horse is going through town and the wreath is on you, so let people be glad. Success here is public and earned; the work is to receive it without becoming a statue. Share the parade — tomorrow the road continues, but today you may wave.

Reversed

empty praise · a victory that did not land · needing the crowd

The wreath feels like a hat that doesn’t fit, or you are riding for applause instead of arrival. Get down off the horse long enough to ask what the win was for. Praise is weather. Character is the road under it.

On the card

  • The wreath

A visible win. Let it be seen; do not rush past it.

  • The horse

You are carried as well as riding. Victory has helpers.

  • The crowd

Witnesses. Success that is shared, not hoarded.

When it shows up

This looks like the praise you accept, the launch that worked, the ride home after.

History

A rider crowned with laurel carries a staff also wreathed; five others lift wands as a foot-procession. Smith dressed him in the embroidered mantle of a returning hero. Waite’s Six is victory after the Five’s scramble — fire acknowledged. The white horse echoes the Sun’s: visible, clean, a little ceremonial.

If you want to sit with it

Where have you already won — and can you let the wreath sit on your head for a minute?

Optional. Nothing is saved.
