History

Waite placed Justice at XI (Marseille’s VIII) to correspond with Libra. Smith’s figure sits between pillars with upright sword and golden scales, a small veil behind, a square crown of ordered thought. The sword is discrimination; the scales are mercy’s partner. In this deck, justice is a practiced seeing, not a mood.
